The creative media roots for Doug began at age 4 while studying music theory and piano at the university level. A veteran of the stage, he toured over 25 years in the U.S., Canada, Spain, and China. Doug’s original songs have landed U.S. and international Film & TV placements, and have been recorded by various artists including American Idol’s David Archuleta, and Billboard artist Austin French, whose first single, "Freedom Hymn," climbed to the top 10 spot on the Billboard Christian charts.

Doug co-founded StratusFilm, a media production company that produces televised concerts, documentaries, narrative films, reality TV and commercial content. During the last two decades, his award-winning music, film and video creations have taken him around the world, and have aired on CBS, PBS, CCTV, RFDTV, and TBN.
